Claude Code for GitHub Issues: an agent on every issue
Connect GitHub once. Your open issues land on the office board, each one gets its own Claude Code agent, and when you approve the work the PR and a summary go back to the issue.
what happens
-
1/4
Issue on the board
Open issues you can access show up on the office board, keyed like owner/repo#12. A saved Assigned to me filter narrows them.
-
2/4
An agent per issue
Click an issue to hire a worker for it. It gets its own git worktree in the checkout whose origin is that repo, and the issue is assigned to you with an in progress label.
-
3/4
You approve
The agent writes a plan first. Pushes, installs and deletes wait for your OK, so nothing lands without it.
-
4/4
PR and summary posted back
Mark it done and the PR and a summary are commented on the issue, with the label swapped to in review. The PR says Fixes owner/repo#12, so merging it closes the issue.

setup
You need
- An Apple Silicon Mac (Windows is coming soon).
- git, and a coding agent you have already signed in to: Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or Cursor.
- A GitHub account. The sign-in is GitHub’s own consent page; there is no token to paste. An organization that restricts OAuth apps needs an owner to approve the app before its issues show up.
- Install the app. Download it and drag it to Applications.
- Connect GitHub Issues. Open Settings, pick GitHub Issues under Tickets from, and click Connect GitHub Issues. GitHub’s consent page opens once.
- Pick your repos. Optional. Choose which repos reach the board. Each repo is worked in the local checkout whose origin is that repo, or one you map it to.
- Hire from the board. Click an issue, then Hire.
faq
Does Claude Code work with GitHub Issues?
Yes. Workers run Claude Code by default and can run Codex, Copilot or Cursor instead. Each issue is worked in its own git worktree, and the PR is opened against that repo.
Do I need a GitHub token?
No. Connect GitHub Issues opens GitHub’s consent page once. The sign-in is kept on your Mac, in ~/.agent-office, and Off forgets it. You can revoke the grant any time in GitHub under Settings, Applications.
How does it close issues?
GitHub issues are only open or closed, so the office adds an in progress label on hire and swaps it for in review on Mark done. The PR carries a Fixes line, so merging it closes the issue.
